Mementoes

Every finisher in the Race and in the Challenge receives a stylish drinks coaster, the design being slightly different each year.
These mementoes have been getting handed out since 1991, so regular participants have by now built up an impressive collection.

Race Trophies

There are 2 main trophies —
a Race trophy and a Women's trophy.

Vets Trophies

From 2008, there will be:
a Male Vet (over 50) trophy, and
a Female Vet (over 45) trophy.

These consist of pieces of volcanic lava from Arthur's Seat (pictured left)...
old rocks for old crocks.

Winners' Prizes

Winners: The first 7 finishers in the Race receives prizes — usually vouchers for sports kit.

For the women it's the first 3 or 4 finishers
(women usually form a pretty small % of the Race field).

Age-categories: There are special awards for:  
       Men:  50–59   and   60–69  and   70+
  Women:  45–54   and   55–64  and   65+

Team-prize: There's a prize for each member of the winning team... 3 or 4 per team, best 3 places to count (in Race only).

Spot prizes

Usually 10% of the field get lucky and get a small spot prize, based on their race-number.

Edinburgh Doubles

For those especially-heroic runners who complete 'the double' for the year — The Edinburgh Marathon AND The Seven Hills of Edinburgh — there's a whisky miniature.
